We Re-Homed Our First Swarm of Bees With Enthusiast Beekeeper Elisa

When a swarm of bees appeared at a local La Canada church, it set in motion a heartwarming journey for Elisa and her family. Raised in a family that cherished bees, Elisa had always had dreams of continuing the tradition herself. Inspired by her father's love for beekeeping and with a little nudge and support from us, Elisa seized the opportunity to turn her dreams into reality with your unwavering support.

It is captivating to witness the bees gracefully marching into our transport hive box, accompanied by their captured queen and the honeycomb they diligently crafted inside the water meter. Beehives naturally swarm as a means of reproduction and expansion. When a hive becomes overcrowded, the worker bees create new queen cells and feed royal jelly to several larvae. The first virgin queen to emerge will lead the old queen and a large portion of the worker bees on a journey to establish a new colony, ensuring the survival of the species and enabling genetic diversity.

With the swarm rapidly multiplying in a small transport container, Elisa and her family sprung into action, assembling the HoneyFlow beehive we sourced for her and a complete kit of essential equipment to get started. Working together, we arrived with the captured swarm and introduced them to the hive, and watched the bees become familiar with their new home.

Under Elisa's diligent care, the bees will thrive, pollinating the surroundings and leaving a positive impact on the environment. We all are eagerly awaiting the honey harvest, which won’t be until late next spring. We are very happy to have been able to demonstrate how your purchases can deliver a positive impact and support more aspiring beekeepers.
